About the program

How to Capture and Sustain Your Audience Through Effective and Dynamic Speech is an in-person, highly interactive workshop designed for PhD students and researchers at NOVA University Lisbon who want to strengthen their public speaking skills.

Led by Terry Gipson, Preceptor in Public Speaking and Strategic Communication at the Harvard College Writing Program, the session will explore practical verbal and nonverbal techniques to help participants communicate with confidence, engage different audiences, and present their research more effectively.

With over 25 years of experience in communication, public relations, higher education, and public service, Terry Gipson brings a strong professional background to this workshop, combining academic expertise with real-world communication practice.
