SOHACK Social Hacking of Higher Education for Sustainability

SOHACK’s primary aim is to tackle sustainability challenges such as wasteful consumption of energy or food that universities are facing on their campuses on a daily basis. It will be achieved by employing an innovative approach of merging place-making and hackathon methodologies to create a new learning framework that will be used as a backbone to prepare students and higher education staff to become true factors of change towards a more sustainable future, at the same time enabling behavioral changes for individual preferences, consumption habits, and lifestyles personally.

SOHACK’s involves enhancement of many needed sustainability competencies.

Impact:

  1. The project will contribute to the horizontal priority of environment and fight against climate change;
  2. Addresses new learning and teaching methods and approaches;
  3. Addresses social responsibility of educational institutions.
