Social Hacking of Higher Education for Sustainability
About the project:
The SOHACK project aim is to tackle sustainability challenges such as wasteful consumption of energy or food that universities are facing on their campuses daily. It will be achieved by employing an innovative approach of merging place-making and hackathon methodologies to create a new learning framework that will be used to prepare students and higher education staff to become true factors of change towards a more sustainable future.
Main objectives and activities:
- To establish place-making and social hacking for solving sustainability issues as a modus operandi at HE level;
- To enhance the sustainability competencies amongst HE students and sustainability teaching methods for teachers;
- To create applicable solutions for sustainable development within the HE sectors;
- To enhance creativity and innovation at all levels in HEI.
