Industry and Open Science Workshop – Bridging Academia and Industry
About the Workshop
The convergence of academic research and industrial application serves as a catalyst for innovation. This workshop will bring together experts from both public and private sectors, along with researchers experienced in navigating both academic and industrial landscapes. The focus will be on real-world applications of OS and OI, highlighting best practices and examining the evolving roles of researchers who bridge these two domains. The main objectives are:
- Understanding OS and OI Impact: Explore how Open Science and Open Innovation are driving sustainable growth across various industries.
- Learning from Industry Leaders: Gain insights from professionals at AstraZeneca, CERN, and BrainZell as they share their experiences with OS and OI applications.
- Exploring Collaborative Models: Examine innovative collaboration frameworks that effectively connect research institutions with businesses.
- Engaging in Interactive Discussions: Participate in discussions and Q&A sessions with leading figures in the field.
This workshop is designed for participants from OPUS pilot organizations (University of Rijeka, University of Cyprus, Universidade NOVA de Lisboa, UEFISCDI, Research Council Lithuania) and countries involved in the project (Croatia, Cyprus, Portugal, Lithuania, Romania), including:
- Researchers seeking new collaborative opportunities
- Universities aiming to strengthen academia-industry links
- Funding bodies interested in maximizing research impact
- Policy makers responsible for innovation policies
- Industry experts looking to adopt Open Science strategies
