RADAR-AIM

Capacity Building Projects

About the Project

RADAR-AIM – Review-Assess-Develop-Adopt-Reflect on AI Micro credential courses

The RADAR-AIM project brings together European partners to co-create an international blended learning program exploring the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in advancing sustainability. The initiative aims to endow learners with the knowledge, analytical capabilities, and practical tools necessary to navigate the complex interrelations between AI technologies and sustainable development in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.

By fostering collaboration across institutions, promoting exchange of best practices, and encouraging cross-border co-creation, RADAR-AIM will cultivate a new generation of professionals capable of embracing AI-driven solutions that contribute to sustainable innovation and societal well-being.

The program, amounting to 15–30 ECTS credits, will be developed in a modular structure, with each module corresponding to a set of micro-credentials. This flexible design allows partner institutions—and future collaborators—to offer the program in its entirety or to integrate individual modules into existing undergraduate, postgraduate, or continuing-education curricula. Through this approach, the consortium aims to ensure both academic coherence and practical adaptability within diverse educational contexts.

Partnership

Partnership: Vrije Universiteit Brussel (BE) – Coordinator, D-Teach (BE), Universität Bremen (DE), Universidade NOVA de Lisboa / NOVA IMS (PT), and Università degli Studi di Roma Tor Vergata (IT).

Our Contribution

NOVA IMS contributes to the RADAR-AIM project as a key partner, leveraging its recognized expertise in data science, information management, and sustainable innovation. Within the consortium, NOVA leads or co-leads core activities under Work Package 2 – “Review & Assess”, where it plays a central role in mapping existing educational practices, assessing AI-related sustainability competencies, and identifying skill gaps across sectors. Additionally, NOVA IMS contributes substantially to Work Package 4 – “Adopt & Reflect”, ensuring that the newly developed modules are effectively integrated, validated, and reflected upon within diverse academic and professional contexts.

Through its involvement, NOVA IMS will promote the integration of data-driven methodologies and evidence-based educational design, ensuring that the program aligns with both European micro-credential frameworks and emerging standards in AI ethics and sustainability. NOVA’s participation reinforces its strategic commitment to bridging AI, education, and sustainability, contributing to the European vision of a digitally competent and environmentally responsible workforce.
