Flavia F. Feitosa
Associate Professor at Universidade Federal do ABC (UFABC) and Innovation Coordinator of Centro de Estudos da Favela (CEFAVELA)
Flavia Feitosa holds a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and Urbanism from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (2002) and a Master’s degree in Remote Sensing from the National Institute for Space Research (INPE, 2005). She conducted her doctoral research at the Center for Development Research (ZEF) and earned a PhD in Geography from the University of Bonn, Germany, in 2010.
Since 2013, she has been a faculty member at the Universidade Federal do ABC (UFABC), teaching in graduate and undergraduate programs in Territorial Planning and Management, Sciences and Humanities, and in the international joint Master of Science SPRING – Regional Development Planning and Management (TU Dortmund University/UFABC). She currently serves as Innovation Coordinator at the Centro de Estudos da Favela (CEFAVELA).
Her research advances the analysis of socio-economic inequalities in urban space, with a focus on segregation, vulnerability, and housing needs. She specializes in the development of innovative urban analytics methodologies, integrating interdisciplinary academic knowledge with planning practice, with recent emphasis on systemic and multidimensional analytical frameworks for understanding housing conditions in Brazil.
