Getting Ready for the 2025 calls in Horizon Europe: funding opportunities for the Digital domain

This in-person session brings to NOVA IMS the National Contact Points (NCPs) for Horizon Europe – Cluster 4: Digital, Industry and Space, with a focus on upcoming funding opportunities for digital research in the 2025 Work Programme.

The session will provide an overview of the programme structure, strategic priorities, and types of actions, with particular attention to digital-related calls in areas such as artificial intelligence, data technologies, platforms, and human-centric digital innovation.

Participants will also have the chance to learn more about complementary EU opportunities, including the Digital Europe Programme and European Partnerships, and to ask questions directly to the NCPs.

This is not a standard online info session: the NCPs will be present at NOVA IMS to engage in discussion, answer questions, and provide guidance that is relevant to researchers and professionals working across digital domains.

This session is open to the wider community, particularly those interested in participating in future Horizon Europe proposals or exploring new avenues for digital research collaboration.

Speakers

Afonso Duarte

Delegate and National Contact Point for Horizon Europe - Digital (Cluster 4)

Afonso Duarte is the National Delegate and Contact Point for Horizon Europe (Digital, Industry, and Space Cluster) at the Portuguese Innovation Agency (ANI). He is also a member of the Portuguese delegation to the European CHIPS Joint Undertaking and the coordinator of the national delegation to the Digital Europe Programme. Previously, he worked at the Agency for Clinical Research and Biomedical Innovation (AICIB), where he served as the National Delegate for the Health Cluster in Horizon Europe, the national representative to the IHI Joint Undertaking, and the National Contact Point for the DIGITAL programme. With approximately 20 years of experience in research and innovation (R&I), he has developed activities in R&I funding, and in the management and coordination of European R&I projects.

Pedro Miranda

Delegate and National Contact Point for Horizon Europe - Digital (Cluster 4)

Pedro Miranda is the National Delegate and Contact Point for Cluster 4 – Digital, Industry, and Space of Horizon Europe, with a focus on topics related to industry. He also serves as the National Contact Point for Legal and Financial Affairs under Horizon Europe.
