About the Event
An event celebrating research and innovation excellence at Universidade NOVA de Lisboa.
The NOVA Science & Innovation Day aims to showcase the talent, interdisciplinarity, and impact of the science and innovation produced at the university. This event includes the participation and presentations of several experts from NOVA IMS.
Morning Program:
The morning sessions will feature presentations of research projects led by NOVA researchers, a dedicated session on interdisciplinary research – highlighting the two winning projects from NOVA’s Interdisciplinary Research Community in Sustainable Energy Systems – and the announcement of new funding opportunities for collaborative research.
Awards will also be presented for the best impact narratives, and recognition will be given to the authors of widely cited scientific publications.
Afternoon Program:
The afternoon will spotlight Citizen Science projects developed within the university and include a session focused on Innovation and Value Creation, showcasing various projects and spin-offs from NOVA.
The day will conclude with a roundtable discussion on the impact of Artificial Intelligence on research and innovation, featuring prominent external experts. Before this, a representative from the European Commission will give a presentation on the responsible use of AI in research.
Innovation Fair:
Throughout the event, an Innovation Fair will be held in the Rectorate atrium, featuring proprietary technologies, specialized services, CoLabs, spin-offs, and other companies within the university's ecosystem.
Additionally, a scientific poster session will provide an opportunity for PhD students from various NOVA schools to showcase significant collaborative research projects with non-academic entities.
