Massimo Aria
Professor Massimo Aria is Full Professor of Statistics for Social Sciences at the Department of Economics and Statistics of the University of Naples Federico II. His research lies at the intersection of bibliometrics, science mapping, text mining, statistical modeling, and machine learning.
He is the author of more than 200 scientific publications and the creator of several open-source R packages, including bibliometrix, widely used for scientometric analysis, with more than 1.45 million installations worldwide, and TALL, an interactive environment for text analysis.
He is also co-founder of K-Synth, an academic spin-off dedicated to transforming data into actionable knowledge through statistical and computational methods. Over the years, Professor Aria has led and contributed to several national and international research programs, including PRIN, PNRR, EU Framework Programmes, and Horizon 2020 initiatives. He is also an active advocate of open science and reproducible research.
