Detalhe da Notícia
The GEOINT Symposium 2024 in Orlando, USA, featured significant contributions from the Portuguese Navy, with strong support from NOVA IMS.
Lieutenant Catarina Nunes, under the guidance of Professor Marco Painho, delivered a compelling presentation on maritime ship encounter detection. This session not only highlighted innovative techniques for enhancing maritime security but also underscored the strategic application of geospatial intelligence.
Additionally, Lt. Nunes contributed a chapter to the book "Human Security and Geospatial Intelligence" published by Esri Press, reflecting the relevance and applicability of her research.
The symposium also featured Jeniffer Viegas, PhD, who presented her pioneering research on aquifer recharge zones. Her work, crucial for sustainable water management, showcases the significant role geospatial intelligence plays in environmental conservation.
NOVA IMS proudly supports these academic efforts, which reinforce the school’s role in pushing the boundaries of geospatial intelligence to address critical global issues.
