Detalhe da Notícia
NOVA IMS recently participated in the EUTOPIA Impact School 2024, a week-long event held in September in Germany, organized by the Graduate Academy of TU Dresden.
This program, designed to enhance science communication skills, brought together 30 participants from the 10 European universities that form the EUTOPIA alliance. Over five days, participants focused on learning how to effectively communicate complex scientific ideas to non-scientific audiences.
Among the attendees were three participants from Universidade NOVA de Lisboa, including Professor Nuno António from NOVA IMS, who highlighted the importance of this training: "The training week at the EUTOPIA Impact School 2024 was extremely enriching. Learning to communicate science to non-scientists is a valuable asset, but also a challenge. The goal of this training is to enable participants to share our scientific work with a wider and more diverse audience."
Throughout the program, participants worked on refining their scientific texts and developed press releases about their research projects. They also gained practical experience through media training, including their first time in front of the camera during interviews.
It is worth noting that EUTOPIA is a university alliance consisting of ten European universities and six global partners, committed to developing a new model for integrated higher education institutions through transnational cooperation. This alliance aims to prepare European youth for the local and global challenges of the future.
