Transforming tourism through data: NOVA IMS joins the DEPLOYTOUR Project
Detalhe da Notícia
NOVA IMS is proud to be a partner in the DEPLOYTOUR project, an ambitious initiative aimed at creating a secure and unified European data space for tourism. With the goal of advancing sustainability, productivity, and innovation within the tourism sector, DEPLOYTOUR will provide a comprehensive framework for data sharing and access that empowers stakeholders across Europe.
Funded by the Digital Europe Programme, DEPLOYTOUR brings together 43 partners from multiple countries, including Spain, Germany, Portugal, Italy, and Greece. This project will connect key tourism actors, from public entities and SMEs to research institutions, with a strong emphasis on enabling digital transformation and competitiveness in tourism.
At NOVA IMS, Professor Nuno António leads the effort to establish data-sharing infrastructure and governance standards that will facilitate seamless data integration across the tourism ecosystem. Using advanced data science and strategic frameworks, the team will help develop the essential tools that allow tourism operators to forecast visitor flows, customize services for diverse tourist groups, and foster new business opportunities—all while aligning with sustainability goals.
With a total budget of €15 million over three years, DEPLOYTOUR will not only support decision-making and governance in tourism but also contribute to Europe’s vision of becoming a sustainable and attractive destination. By enhancing data sharing and collaboration across sectors, DEPLOYTOUR will pave the way for a more connected, data-driven future for European tourism.
