About the Project
SafeWeb - Cybersecurity and VET
Coordinated by Mälardalens Universitet (Sweden), the SafeWeb project addresses the urgent need to strengthen online safety and cybersecurity skills among Vocational Education and Training (VET) educators. In a rapidly digitizing society, educators require not only awareness of digital risks but also effective tools to teach responsible online behaviors.
SafeWeb pioneers the development of innovative, practice-oriented educational resources, including an RWD e-learning platform, a cybersecurity game, a comprehensive online course with a teaching guide, and a simulation environment. These outputs will empower VET educators to enhance their competencies and to integrate cybersecurity education into their teaching practices.
The initiative is grounded in system dynamics, educational innovation, and collaborative learning, ensuring that results are both pedagogically sound and technically robust. It directly responds to the priorities of Erasmus+ by fostering digital transformation, inclusive education, and international cooperation in VET.
Through structured phases—platform and game development, course design, simulation environment creation, and dissemination—SafeWeb will deliver practical tools to strengthen cybersecurity competences, while also promoting pro-social digital attitudes among students.
As part of its implementation, the project will:
- Develop and test a multilingual RWD e-learning platform and cybersecurity game.
- Create a cybersecurity course and teaching guide adaptable to diverse national contexts.
- Build a simulation environment to model online threats and protective measures.
- Pilot outputs with educators and students, validating them through feedback and iterative improvements.
- Disseminate results widely via multiplier events, webinars, publications, and a strong online presence
