About the Project

AI4IA@EU - Artificial Intelligence for Better Regulation at EU

The project aims to enhance the legislative process by integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies into the assessment of national and transposed EU legislation. This initiative seeks to develop innovative methodologies that utilize AI to facilitate faster comparisons between existing and proposed laws, thereby increasing legal certainty and reducing administrative burdens for citizens and businesses. By streamlining the evaluation of legislative impacts, the project aspires to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of regulatory frameworks within the European Union.

Our Contribution

Within the AI4IA@EU project, the NOVA IMS was responsible for the research and development of AI-driven solutions for legislative impact assessment. Namely:

  • Designing AI Models: Developing machine learning algorithms capable of analyzing and comparing legislative texts to identify discrepancies and potential areas of improvement.

  • Implementing Analytical Tools: Creating platforms that utilize AI to automate the assessment of legislative impacts, thereby reducing the time and resources required for comprehensive evaluations.

  • Facilitating Knowledge Transfer: Organizing training sessions and workshops to equip policymakers and legal professionals with the skills necessary to effectively utilize AI tools in the legislative process.

Through these contributions, NOVA IMS ensures that the project's outcomes are both scientifically robust and practically applicable, facilitating their adoption in real-world legislative assessments.
