About the Project

New Solutions for Old Constraints

The project titled "Novas soluções para constrangimentos antigos" (New Solutions for Old Constraints) focuses on advancing methodologies for evaluating the impact of interventions co-financed by European funds. Recognizing the limitations of traditional evaluation techniques, this initiative aims to explore and generalize the Difference-in-Differences (DiD) method, adapting it to the specific contexts of public policy assessment. By refining these methodologies, the project seeks to provide more accurate and reliable tools for policymakers to assess the effectiveness of funded interventions, thereby enhancing decision-making processes and optimizing resource allocation.

Our Contribution

NOVA IMS coordinated this project and was responsible for developing and applying advanced analytical techniques to generalize the Difference-in-Differences method. Leveraging its expertise in data analysis and public policy evaluation, NOVA IMS contributes to creating robust frameworks that address the complexities inherent in assessing the impact of European-funded interventions. The institution's involvement ensures that the methodologies developed are scientifically rigorous and practically applicable, facilitating their adoption in real-world policy evaluations.
